This has definitely been the best vacation ever and I am definitley coming back as soon as I can. I dreaded the day that I had to leave and come back to my city life. The views are spectacular, the food is delicious, the staff is very hospitable, and the wranglers and horses were amazing. I am counting down the weeks until I will be able to return to the Bar M. I've fallen in love with this place and want to live there forever. This trip has made me horse crazy and I absolutely loved every single thing about it.

while we were at the lodge. The girls really loved riding the horses. Would you believe that evening I picked the Oregon Travel magazine and there was the great article and photos about the ranch. Tilly, you were partly right.
The girls did not want us to buy a ranch(too much work), they just wanted us to board horses in a stable so they could ride anytime. Somebody else could do the rest.

I saw an add for Bar M Ranch today, and it brought a smile to my face. I went to Bar M in the summer of 2002 with my parents, right before it was sold. I remember looking through the photoalbums and seeing a picture of my dad, aunt, grandma and grandpa on their vacation there in the summer of 1968! I loved the riding, horses, swimming, volleyball and scenery. But most of all, I loved the horse I rode. Little Joe. I went to check out the website and kept seeing this little white spotted rump, and everytime I would think "that one looks like Little Joe." Then I was completely amazed to see a picture of Little Joe! And the caption was great-"One of our best." :)

Wild Bill in the kitchen, Trampas and AJ, GREAT WRANGLERS you boy's, and Nate the beverage boy. I had an awesome time playing fetch with the dogs and eatting until I popped each night.

My kids and I went to the BAR M Ranch and had the best family vacation we've ever had (and we've gone a lot of places!). It was so great, we saved our pennies and went back again a few months later and had another magical time! The lodge is cozy in the winter and breezy in the summer. The food is served family style and is often made of harvests from the garden just a few feet away from the back door of the kitchen. You can swim day and night in the warm pool, and ride horses. Our favorite horseback experience was playing "tag" on horseback. Our favorite thing at the Bar M, though, is the people who work there. We feel like family. I could not recommend it enough.
Neither can my kids. They wear their Bar M sweat shirts day and night and are now proud owners of cowboy hats!

Dear Bar M-

My mom is typing this for me so that you will know that I had a great time at the ranch. This was my very first time at a ranch; we came because my Mom loves horses and I love all animals.

While I was at the ranch I learned a lot of stuff. I leaned a lot about horses and that they are not easy creatures to control.

Beth & Trampas and Michael & Nate taught me so much! I tried hard to listen and I think that by the end of the week I had lots of experience that I used to go on the all-day ride with my Mom.

We had so much fun and I respect the animals and the wranglers very much.

My Mom says that we can come back next year.

I'd have to say that my tirp, with my dad and sister, to Bar M ranch was one of the best trips I've ever had! The people that were there on our week visit (July 22-29) were awesome. My little sister and I were aloud to help feed in the mornings and evenings, along with other kids. The wranglers were funny and liked to joke around. Memories have been made that I will never forget! Ever since leaving I've had many stories to tell. Every person that I have told either said, 'It sounds like a great place.' or 'Sounds like you had a wonderful time.' Both things are true. I'd have to say that it's not that hard for me to leave vacation spots, but this one was. It wasn't the food, horses, set up of the place or any of that, that made it hard to leave. (Alright so those things had alot to do with it :) ) It was mainly the people that I was leaving. So, again I say, I can't wait to come back and I hope the same people will be there.

My mom and I have been to the ranch 3 times and we can hardly wait to come back each time! We have met so many great paople (staff and guests) and We feel like the Bar M is our 2nd home! Instead of having a sweet 16 this year, I told my mom I want to go to the ranch! (I think she'll end up giving in!)

My Grandma and my cousin and I went to the ranch in June 2005. I got Cinder and my cousin Andrew got OJ. We both fell in love with it all pretty quickly! Also, not only did we become close with "our" horses, but we made some good friends too including Dana and Ryan, two wranglers, Hannah and Peri, two other guests (sisters), and "Corky!" We both had a great time and cried the whole way home on Saturday! Too bad we didn't stay longer...I'm looking forward to our next trip!

My husband and I both work full-time, and have three children; a teenager, a 10-year old, and a toddler. It is difficult to find a family vacation spot that will suit everyone, is near enough to drive to, and won't break the bank. After seeing the beautiful Bar M Ranch, we decided to book a weekend stay. It was FANTASTIC!!! The accomodations were cozy and comfortable, and the kids were never without something to do. They swam in the outdoor hot springs pool and splashed down the slide, while mom and dad relaxed in the hot tub jacuzzi. The friendly and experienced wranglers took them on horseback rides, even the toddler, and let them help feed the animals. The adults got to go on a relaxing and scenic trail ride up to a breathtaking waterfall. After all that mountain fresh air we worked up hearty appetites- the fresh and hot homemade meals were so delicious that we all listened eagerly for the next dinner bell. The hospitality was outstanding, not to mention all the extras; the bottomless cookie jar and hot cocoa in the Ranch House, as well as ping poing, foosball, and board games and puzzles. The Rec Barn allowed the kids to play basketball, and the petting zoo and great old-fashioned playground kept them busy as well. We even roasted marshmellows and made s'mores around the giant fireplace. What was so special was that for three days there was no TV, videos, or internet, and the kids all had so much fun just enjoying the simple pleasures that we adults remembered in our own childhoods. And when our kids thanked us again and again for the wonderful weekend, THAT was the most rewarding of all. We can't wait to book our next trip! So call Bar M Ranch for the best get-away close to home that you can buy, and I guarantee you will have a fabulous time! See ya at the Ranch!

Our stay at the bar m was really great... i really enjoyed meeting new people...we met so many people i will never forget... the pool, the food, staff, and horses were great! I hope that we will be able to come back soon!!!

Stayed 9/15-9/20

Just wanted to drop a line and say what an excellent time we had at the Bar M! I can only say where do I sign up for a job. It was nice to be away from all the ringing phones and blaring TVs. Anna & I loved all the animals and the river and everything. It was definitely quiet. I have to tell our friends that it took us an hour to drive 34 miles and there was no traffic! Your wranglers were all really nice and helpful. You have a great group working there. There was only one issue that I can think of. There was too much food, but who cares! The food was great!! Overall it was the best! The people that we met there were also some of the nicest people we have met.

Back in Holland again, I once more want to thank everyone of the Bar M Ranch for our super stay. It is hard to get the "normal life rhythm" again as all the memories are still fresh. We enjoyed every minute of our stay, the superb meals, the horses, the trails, the views and of course the very nice people we met! We travelled through your beautiful state from Hells Canyon to Craterlake, Mount Hood to Mount St. Helens in Washington and saw Mother Nature at her best. It's a heritage to take good care of!
In the car we had the CD of Steve and Shelley on and now it's in my car here. If they come back to the Bar M Ranch to perform tell them they have a customer in Holland for their next CD.
Travelling through your state we met so many nice people , the world is not as bad as news papers and tv you sometimes show.

My family and I just recently spent 5 days at Bar M Ranch
that was the most relaxing vacation that we have ever taken. We truly enjoyed every part of our stay. All the wranglers, Ryan, Kyle, Dana, Jackie, and Lydia were so friendly and helpful with our almost first time horseback riding experience. The food was great and I think we all gained 5 pounds while staying there. My 2 children had so much fun that on the way back to our home town they already wanted to start planning our next visit to the ranch. I guess this may be a vacation we all would like to do again, I would like to try and visit in the different seasons to see all the changes on the trees and how beautiful the ranch would be. Words pale in comarison to our unforgettable experience at the Bar M. Every one of our expectations were exceeded, due primarily to your professional, knowledgable, outstanding staff. Hats off the the head wranglers, Ryan and Jackie, who guided us through an entire week of absolutely incredible trail rides and matched us up perfectly with our horses, "Rockette," "Monkey," and "Stormy." We also enjoyed Ryan's dog Crash, what a treat to be able to indulge our love of dogs! Thank you all so much for welcoming us into your "family" - we are counting the days until we return for another visit.

Thank you for the great hospitality and service you provided to our class during the May 20-22 weekend at the Bar M Ranch. This was one of our best reunions ever, and I believe it was due to the outstanding service provided by the Bar M Ranch management and staff. The food was outstanding and management made every effort to see that our visit was pleasant and enjoyable. This is the first time that I have seen my classmates sit around and talk for endless hours. You made everyone feel at home in a comfortable environment.

I was extremely impressed with everything at the Bar M Ranch. The facilities were comfortable and clean and although I did not indulge in all the outdoor activities, I look forward to returning to enjoy more of what the Bar M Ranch has to offer along with the wonderful environment.

I cannot speak for all my classmates, but many expressed to me what a great experience they had at the Bar M Ranch. Thanks again for making our class reunion a memorable experience and I look forward to returning soon.

This was our second time coming to the Bar M and it was just as good if not better than the first time we visited. We had a great time and are most definitly coming back, in fact I'm giving up my trip to Spain just so I can go back to the place that makes me happy!

For our spring break we decided to do something different and found the Bar M ranch on the web. It's been a life changing event! All the staff was so nice and friendly, great place for kids. We went swimming, horseback riding, roping, played basketball games... and best of all... took a nap in front of the fireplace!
I am sure we will be back soon.
