The Bar M Ranch, located in a scenic valley of the Blue Mountains in eastern Oregon, is a retreat center with charming western flair. The Ranch serves as a host camp facility for outdoor school. You may bring your own educational provider or contract with our provider.

 

The Ranch has historical significance and served as a stagecoach stop built in 1864. It hosted visitors such as Presidents Calvin Coolidge and Woodrow Wilson. The Bar M has a variety of vintage ranch buildings that have been lovingly renovated and upgraded to accommodate small to large groups in need of day-use or multiple-day events. The historic buildings, beautiful grounds, and surrounding 633 acres create the perfect environment to naturally enhance your ability to create, educate, ignite, unite and inspire!

Amenities

  • Indoor facilities and outdoor space for groups up to 200

​

  • Comfortable and affordable overnight accommodations for up to 120 guests with shared baths and flexible sleeping arrangements including cozy cabins with kitchenettes, two large homes with a full kitchen and living room, and a large        seven-room bunkhouse. There is updated bedding including Tempur-Pedic mattresses and indoor bathroom facilities in each building.

  • Laundry facilities

  • Meeting space in the Barn, a massive heated two-story split-log building with tables and chairs for 200, restrooms, audio/visual equipment, and a lower level game room and additional meeting space

  • The Meadow, with a large and lush lawn peppered with stately pine and fir trees, provides  additional gathering and educational space

​

  • Delicious, wholesome, and affordable meals served in the Ranch House, the historic 1864 Stagecoach Inn with a large stone fireplace

​

  • Soak, play or star-gaze in the comfortable 86-degree natural hot springs swimming pool

​

  • Frisbee golf, fishing pond, campfire pits, canoes and kayaks, sand volleyball court, basketball court, horseshoes, and miles of hiking trails to grassland hills

  • One mile of the free-flowing Umatilla River, a pond, and a natural mineral hot springs
